VADA investment in financial aid for families will allow kids to attend Summer Programs
(May 26, 2020) Phoenix, AZ — Valley Auto Dealers Association’s (VADA) generous donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley will put summer programming within reach for thousands of families. VADA has donated $240,000 into the organization to provide financial aid to families who need help with summer program fees.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley offers high quality, affordable programs for youth ages 5-18 year round at 26 Clubs around the Valley. This summer there are 20 open Clubs for youth to participate in summer programming including academic enrichment, sports, technology, and fun. Clubs are open from 7am to 6pm to support working families and every Club member will enjoy a free breakfast and lunch.
“This summer, every Club will also be offering academic enrichment to help stem learning loss. After 10 weeks away from school, friends and mentors, many kids are craving the structure and connection of Clubs and Boys & Girls Clubs offers an affordable opportunity for summer fun,” said Marcia Mintz, Chief Executive Officer of Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley. “We know that more families than ever will need financial aid and thanks to our partners at VADA, we can ensure that no child will be turned away because of funding. Every month, hundreds of eligible families use these limited financial aid dollars.
VADA has partnered with BGCAZ for years and donated the vans the Clubs use for their special events and field trips. This summer, BGCAZ needed additional dollars to ensure that all kids can be in summer program, regardless of their financial situation.
BGCAZ’s priority is to provide a safe environment for young people and staff. We have in place enhanced health, safety and cleaning precautions and protocols. Clubs will provide 2 meals (breakfast and lunch) for the day and a snack helping to ensure kids have access to healthy meals.
Our Clubs are located in the communities of:
- Metro Phoenix,
- West Valley,
- East Valley
Space is limited based on each location’s capacity.
- If your child(ren) shows any symptoms or falls into CDC criteria of high risk, or fever they will not be permitted to attend the Club
- Temperature checks are required for staff and members.
- Enhanced safety and hygiene protocols are in place in every Club.
