Boys & Girls Clubs’ Warner & Shirley Gabel Branch are hosting a special event on February 25, at 4:00pm to showcase the newly built teen bathroom and upgraded Teen Room.
Through a $50,000 grant from Lowe’s, the Gabel Branch worked with the Lowe’s team to construct a new teen bathroom on the second floor of the Club, and upgrade the teen computer area with new seating, new paint and more. For the teens who attend the Gabel Branch, this renovation helps to create an environment where they can feel safe and supported is critical to achieve their full potential.
The event on Tuesday, February 25 will include the Lowe’s team finishing out the space by assembling and painting the teen areas. As part of a $1.5 million donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of America in 2019, Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley – Metro Phoenix is one of 30 Boys & Girls Clubs selected to receive a grant from Lowe’s to make critical renovations. The generous donation will strengthen the organization to best serve the community’s youth.
In 2016, Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Lowe’s teamed up to create Renovation Across the Nation, an initiative that has supported renovations at more than 180 Boys & Girls Clubs nationwide. Since its inception, Lowe’s has donated more than $11.5 million to support Renovation Across the Nation.
Boys & Girls Clubs of America’s partnership with Lowe’s impacts Clubs by addressing improvements needed, while bringing the skills and dedication of Lowe’s Heroes volunteers to leave a lasting mark on Clubs and the youth and communities they serve. More than 1,000 Lowe’s Heroes have provided hands-on volunteer support to complete critical repairs at Renovation Across the Nation Clubs.
