Arizona Nonprofits Receive Surprise Donations from Amazon to Support Vital Needs during COVID-19

Governor Doug Ducey, Boys & Girls Clubs Announce Partnership to Help Address Impacts of COVID-19

Governor Doug Ducey and Boys & Girls Clubs Arizona Alliance today announced emergency operational funding to support youth impacted by COVID-19 school closures. The partnership will enable state funding to compensate Boys & Girls Clubs to provide expanded services to Arizona families, while encouraging and leveraging private donations from individuals, corporations and foundations.

In response to the closings of a number of Valley school districts, Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley – Metro Phoenix will be opening local Clubs in impacted areas during school hours to serve our members and the greater community.  We came to this decision, despite the increase in costs, to be able to support our community.

Boys & Girls Clubs of the East Valley – Metro Phoenix Awarded $50,000 Renovation from Lowe’s

Boys & Girls Clubs’ Warner & Shirley Gabel Branch are hosting a special event on February 25, at 4:00pm to showcase the newly built teen bathroom and upgraded Teen Room. Through a $50,000 grant from Lowe’s, the Gabel Branch worked with the Lowe’s team to construct a new teen bathroom on the second floor of the Club, and upgrade the teen computer area with new seating, new paint and more.

Phoenix Suns Invest $1 Million in Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix Expansion Initiatives

The Phoenix Suns have been one of the Valley’s most involved donors for youth, and today, they have given Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro Phoenix a big assist. The NBA team has committed $1 million to the Clubs to support their plans for expansion into school-based sites in districts in need, starting with Phoenix’s Cartwright District.
