Governor Doug Ducey today announced Arizona is distributing $26.5 million to support Summer learning programs, reach struggling students, enhance student achievement and expand tutoring opportunities. “Our teachers, students and families have worked hard to stay on track and ensure Arizona kids have all the support they need,” said Governor Ducey.
Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley’s Grant Woods Branch will be hosting a four-week soccer program that includes practices and games for players grades K-8 starting on Monday, February 22. Leading these practice sessions and games will be Officers from the Mesa Police Department who have attended a U.S. Soccer Grassroots Coaching License course hosted by the Arizona Soccer Association.
Today, the leaders of Vista College Prep, the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley (BGCAZ), UMOM New Day Centers, and Northern Arizona University announced a partnership for an innovative, virtual summer school program designed to help Phoenix’s most underserved children catch up on lost learning time due to the coronavirus.
Valley Auto Dealers Association’s (VADA) generous donation to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley will put summer programming within reach for thousands of families. VADA has donated $240,000 into the organization to provide financial aid to families who need help with summer program fees.
Governor Doug Ducey announced today $500,000 from the AZ Coronavirus Relief Fund has been allocated to organizations that provide out-of-school child care in the state. The funding will support extended hours and enrichment programs to meet the increased demand of child care for families while students distance learn and parents or guardians work.
