Partner Profile – King Koil Mattress Co.
BGCAZ is extremely grateful for community partners like King Koil Mattress Co. in Avondale. King Koil Mattress Co. donated a generous $25,000 recently to support Club kids and the BGCAZ mission! The King Koil Mattress Co. team volunteered their time at the Bob Bové Branch where they also graciously donated 130 backpacks and water bottles to the Club members.
In addition to the company’s donation and time volunteering, they will also be supporting the AZYouthForce program as a new employer.
AZYouthForce
One of the priority outcomes for Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley is to help teens explore and develop a plan for their future. This includes exposing teens to career opportunities, introducing them to companies and emerging fields, and helping them create a career and educational plan for their future.
AZYouthForce creates equity for teens by helping young adults achieve their goals – through training, coaching, internships, and rewarding jobs.
Our Programmatic Approach: AZYouthForce internships range from 8 weeks to 4.5 months in length and all internships are paid placements. All teens must complete the AZYouthForce Academy, a 30 hour training program where teens learn valuable hard and soft skills to help them be successful in the workplace. Following successful completion of the Academy, interns are placed into managed internships.
AZYouthForce Academy includes training in: Job interview skills and resume development, financial literacy workshops, critical thinking skills, and certifications (i.e. First Aid/CPR; Food Handlers Card; Lifesaving Certification).

Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley offers affordable after-school and summer programs for young people in grades K-12. BGCAZ provides award-winning programs designed to change the lives of young people. For 75 years, BGCAZ has been creating equity for youth through academic, social, and workforce opportunities. We help young people make healthy decisions and focus on social and emotional development to build resilient young adults. Most importantly, we work to develop strong character and leadership skills by creating positive connections to caring adults and their community.

King Koil Mattress Co.
In 1898, Samuel Bronstein realized his dream: he founded United States Bedding in St. Paul, Minnesota. What started out as six employees in a small factory has steadily grown. Throughout the early 1900s, US Bedding added employees, expanded manufacturing, and became innovators in the industry. During the 1930s, US Bedding greatly improved the bedspring and was looking for a new name for its product. The King Koil name was born. Today, King Koil mattresses, designed and manufactured in the U.S., can be found in more than 90 countries throughout the world, with its worldwide headquarters located in Avondale, AZ.
